From a briefcase and a Rolodex to AI
The tools changed. The part that gets deals done never did: knowing the customer, knowing the credit, and not quitting on the hard ones.
- 1987 Prime Financial Group. PFG. A briefcase, a Rolodex, a phone book, and a fax machine that jammed every time a deal mattered. My very first funding source was EDS, Electronic Data Systems, the company Ross Perot founded. A few years later he ran for president against George Bush and Bill Clinton. He didn't win that one, but he funded my deals, so he's always been in my win column.
- 1996 The Palm Pilot The most high-tech guy at every convention. Or so I thought.
- The years National lenders and banks Decades inside the lenders, learning how credit committees think and what gets a deal approved.
- 2026 Priolo Financial Group. PFG is back. Same initials. Same guy. A laptop, AI, and more doors to knock on than ever.
